When either the main shower valve or the eyebath valve are activated the flow switch detects the water flow and sends a low voltage signal to the control enclosure, this signal switches on a relay and activates the sounder/strobe.
The alarm sounder automatically switches off after 30 minutes but the strobe will continue to flash and the remote signal will remain ‘ON’ until the alarm condition is removed.
The alarm enclosure will be fitted to an appropriate plate depending on whether it is a shower or eyewash installation.
- The alarm system consists of a 20A rotary isolator
- A flow switch fitted to the water supply pipe
- The system operates from a 230 volt single phase 6 amp supply
- A volt free output (n/o n/c c/o) contact is available on terminal 700 & 701 of the terminal bar.
All sensors and external switching is achieved by way of the 24 volt dc PSU fitted to the controls and all electrical equipment is to a minimum IP 54.
The sounder/strobe is a multi tone 2 stage sounder that complies with BS EN 54-23
